I made a candy corn costume for Alice, complete with little bloomers to cover her diaper. Nevermind that I didn’t finish it until November 8th and we finally took pictures of her in it the night before last, and the bloomers didn’t quite cover the diaper. I used fun fur and worsted weight yarn held together and big needles (I think size 15) and I just made it up as I went along. It’s not really that difficult to make a triangle shape, but I was still impressed with myself. I especially love the hat - Erin Goley suggested a green one for christmas with little ornaments on it. I think I should get on that. I have decided that fun fur joins comic sans in the “things that are only appropriate for children” category. One of the benefits of liking bright colors - I had all of the yarn for this in my stash already, and even an exactly matching orange button to close the back opening.

She had two other costumes, but we were only able to get pictures in the pumpkin before she ran out of patience. The pea pod will have to be undocumented, sadly. Here is the composite picture, and here is a link to her giant and ever-growing picasa gallery.
Oh my god that is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I should make one of those for Oscar.
That is super cute! It’s way better than my candy corn costume of many years ago which consisted of yellow pants, an orange shirt and white hat. Alice wins the costume contest, for sure!
Oh. My. God. I think that might be the cutest thing I’ve seen in a year (at least!)!!! She looks adooooooorable. Yes, make a Christmas tree costume!! Do it!!
Oh my god I love it! Good job.
This is one of the cutest things I have ever seen in my life!!!
I love it.
I actually let out a squeal of delight when I saw these pictures! eeeeee!
OMG OMG OMG. So cute. Both the outfit and the kid. Nice job, Mom!
